NewsWarm food for Ukraine: Help those suffering from hunger with Diaconia ECCB

The Centre of Relief and Development of Diaconia ECCB, which is devoted to development projects and providing humanitarian aid abroad and in the Czech Republic, has been supporting the operation of social kitchens in Ukraine for almost two years now and their distribution of hot meals to villages with poorer food availability.

In cooperation with a local partner, an organisation called Myrne Nebo, it manages to cook and distribute more than 7,000 portions of hot food every day to all people in need in Kharkiv, Kherson, Izjum, Kupyansk and their surrounding villages.

The food boxes are delivered to places with no shops, electricity, or transport options. People can cook on fires, but there is no fuel. This makes it even more necessary to keep several kitchens running during the winter, which are also staffed by men and women who, for various reasons, have decided to stay in Ukraine and help their community.

Thanks to Diakonie’s collection at, they will be able to have additional portions of hot food cooked and distributed every day. Whether it’s a single serving worth CZK 150 or a meal for a family of four for CZK 600.
