Moore Stephens agreed on the appointment of a new Partner, Mr. Martin Houska. He is specialised in tax advisory, cross-border tax structuring and the realisation of complex corporate structures. Martin Houska joins Moore Stephens with his team from his advisory office Acredos also. Miroslav Jandečka, Managing Partner of Moore Stephens, says: “In 22 years, we have grown from a small local office to one of the top ten companies in our branch on the Czech market. We are not aware of any other company on the Czech market in majority ownership of Czech partners that would be ahead of us. This is a great responsibility for all partners and a commitment to the future.”
Part of the changes, in Moore Stephens, is filling the position of the Chief Operating Officer on a full time basis also. Zuzana Prokopcová is taking over this position. “We also plan to grow in the years ahead, notably by continuing the organic growth of our core services and focusing on high value consulting services for our clients. Therefore, we also need the background of a professionally operated firm,”adds Miroslav Jandečka.
The merger with the Pilsen office TAX PARTNERS has also been approved at the general meeting, this transaction was announced on the website recently. Several other mergers are under negotiation.
Robert Jurka, one of the Partners responsible for the tax team of the Prague office, announced his intention to stand down as a Partner at Moore Stephens and to pursue other projects. “I want to thank Robert for his cooperation thus far, for his significant share in the development of our Prague office! He was a great colleague and, with his innovations and invaluable experience, he actively spread the name of the Prague tax team, not only internally but also to our colleagues from Moore Stephens abroad”, concludes Miroslav Jandečka.
Martin Houska is the owner and managing director of consulting office Acredos. He previously served as the Director of the Tax and Legal Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic and as senior manager of KPMG. He has also led the International Taxation and Customs Chamber of Tax Advisers for several years. He studied accounting and financial management at the University of Economics in Prague and in the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University. He is a Certified Tax Adviser, a member of the Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and an MBA graduate of the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He founded Acredos in 1997, so he has been helping Czech entrepreneurs for 20 years. It focuses, in particular, on helping the companies of Czech owners and entrepreneurs who are already interested in the distribution of money back from the business. The priority is to protect the property of the owner and ensure that, even in the event of an unforeseen event, the property damage is as small as possible.
Zuzana Prokopcová served as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Czech Aeroholding, a.s., where she was in charge of controlling, treasury, accounting and taxation, internal audit and risk management. She has gained experience in advisory services thanks to her long-term experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Russia. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting in the field of accounting and financial management at the University of Economics in Prague and is a member of the Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA).
