Conectart has strengthened its position on the Czech call centre service providers market with its acquisition of Atoda, the largest domestic contact centre. With more than 2,000 operators, Conectart is the largest contact centre operator in the Czech Republic. The Genesis Private Equity Fund III (GPEF III) of the Genesis Capital Group entered this market segment with the acquisition of Conectart in 2020. The parties have decided not to communicate the value of the transaction.
Atoda has been operating on the Czech market since 2005 and cooperates with some 400 operators in five cities in South Bohemia and one in Central Bohemia. Atoda’s original management will remain after the acquisition and continue to run the company.
Genesis Capital Group is a group of private equity funds that offer small and medium-sized enterprises in Central Europe assistance in financing their growth and development. Since its inception in 1999, it has advised six venture capital funds with a total volume in excess of EUR 300 million. These funds have already supported more than 60 companies.
“For Genesis Capital funds, we are looking for investment opportunities from industries with high added value and scalability,” says Martin Viliš, a partner at Genesis Capital. “We see the industry in which Conectart and Atoda operate as very interesting and attractive for further organic and acquisition growth. We are creating a local market leader that will be a strong platform for further growth not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Central and Eastern Europe.”
The JŠK transaction team was led on the buyer’s side by JŠK partner Tomáš Doležil in cooperation with senior lawyer Helena Hailichová. The seller was represented by GT Legal.
“From a business and procedural point of view, this transaction was not entirely easy, for instance, when Covid complicated its settlement at the last minute,” Doležil said. “We believe that the acquisition of Atoda will be an important milestone in the development of this market segment for Genesis and Conectart. We are glad that we were able to contribute to this with our work.”
