1/ LEARNING CENTRE ASSISTANT/Support to the secondary school office
The Learning Centre is one facility that is used by the community including staff and students.
Responsibilities
- Monitor students’ effectiveness in the LC
- Provide welcoming atmosphere for students and teachers in the LC and assist them in the selection of material
- Promote reading for both personal and academic interests
- Assist with the library instruction and computer use
- Organize and supervise the circulation desk
- Catalog and process new materials
- Re-shleve materials and check to see that they’re in correct order on the shelves
- Monitor students return the borrowed materials
- Register students to NTK (National Technical Library) and organize a workshop fort hem, especially for citation and writing essays
Support to the secondary team and school office
- Work closely with the secondary school office, provide organisational and administrative support
- Provide basic administrative support to other members of the Secondary Leadership
Substitute for secondary school officer when necessary
- Help the admin team with another agenda
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Advanced studies in librarianship preferred
- Minimum one year customer work experience
- Previous experience in a library preferred
- Fluency English
- Ability to work independently and to problem-solve
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Pro-active and friendly attitude
2/ Personal Assistant
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Secondary Principal and the Deputy Head of Secondary, and to provide organisational and administrative support in managing the day to day running of the school;
- Provide basic administrative support to other members of the Secondary Leadership Team;
- Miscellaneous whole school-related tasks to support the Deputy Head of Secondary and Secondary Leadership Team, including but not limited to: printing for staff meetings/parent forums, working on timetables (e.g. duties, lunch rotas) year 9 and 11 Options administration, exam paperwork.
- Maintaining key aspects of compliance, safeguarding and policies;
- Administration support for the preparation and running of meetings and smaller functions for staff and students;
- Communication with staff; memos, bulletins, notices;
- Making telephone calls to outside bodies, liaising with parents, screening telephone calls, enquiries and requests and handling them when appropriate;
- Research and project work for the Deputy Head of Secondary as directed;
- Travel and accommodation arrangements.
