Allen & Overy is delighted to announce that it has won the prestigious National Law Firm of the Year award for the Czech Republic at the IFLR Europe Awards 2023, held in London on 3 May 2023. The IFLR (International Financial Law Review) Europe Awards recognise the industry’s most innovative deals, teams, firms and advisers.
The A&O Czech team stood out this year for its work on the international mortgage covered bond programme of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia following the implementation of the EU Covered Bond Directive, and the benchmark issuance and placement of EUR500 million mortgage covered bonds on the international capital markets.
Petr Vybíral, partner and head of A&O’s Finance practice in Prague, commented: “We are delighted to be yet again recognised by IFLR with National Law Firm of the Year award for the Czech Republic. Receiving it for the fifth time in the past ten years reflects our consistent excellence and innovation in advising our clients on complex and high-profile transactions requiring a novel approach. It is a testament to our commitment to thinking ahead and bringing original solutions to our clients’ legal and commercial challenges”.
The National Law Firm of the Year awards recognise our track record of working on the most innovative cross-border transactions in 2022. The IFLR Research team considers work across all categories, and the successful firm must have an office in the relevant jurisdiction and must have provided local law advice on the cited projects. We successfully fulfilled these criteria, and were rewarded for our work in this field.
This year, A&O also received multiple honours in CEE, with A&O Poland being awarded National Law Firm of the Year for the second time in a row.
