NewsFriends of the Czech Heritage are looking for sponsors for the completion of their project Mauricovna

Friends of the Czech Heritage are looking for financial sponsors for the completion of their project Mauricovna in the Psychiatric hospital at the Chateau Cerveny Dvur near Cesky Krumlov.

The hospital is the only facility of its type in the Czech Republic specialising in drug and alcohol dependence and pathological gambling. The hospital founded in 1966, has a high success rate and is well regarded internationally. Its 109 beds are always full. The Mauricovna cottage, located within its park, is designated as a therapy unit where broken family relationships, arising from an addition, can be rebuilt.

The restoration of Mauricovna began in 20ll, with working parties by British volunteers contributing 600 man-days to the project. The Friends of Czech Heritage have also given grants of GBP 19 000. The budgeted cost to complete the project is £ 125 000, or Kc 3 750 000.

More information could be found in the brochures bellow and at www.czechfriends.net

Friends of the Czech Heritage provide grants for heritage projects, organise volunteer working parties, promote Czech heritage through education and encourage similar voluntary movements in the Czech Republic. They select the projects on their heritage merits, with the aim of keeping them relevant to the community and to serve the people today.
