Industry Day – discussion on measures at UK borders after the UK exits the EU
Description
The British Embassy in Prague invites you for an Industry Day for a discussion on measures at UK borders after the UK exits the EU. The event takes place on Thursday, 17 October 2019 at the premises of the Petschek’s palace kindly provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Politických vězňů 20, 110 00 Praha 1.
For capacity reasons, we will run two identical sessions. The first session will start at 9.30 (registration from 9.00)and the second one will start at 13.30 (registration from 13.00). If you register for both, we will have to cancel your reservation for one of them.
The event will be open by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Nick Archer.
While the commitment of the British government to exit the European Union with a Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration in place remains unchanged, the government is also intensively preparing for the unwanted scenario of UK’s exit from the EU without a deal. This initiative falls under the preparation work for the latter. The aim of the event therefore is to explain what preparation steps are being taken at the UK borders, how the situation will change for importers to the UK after the exit, what procedures should be followed and how the transport infrastructure will be affected.
Senior officials from the UK cross-governmental Border Delivery Group, UK customs authority, UK agriculture ministry and UK transport ministry will be present at the event.
This will be a unique opportunity for you to hear from the UK officials what, in practical and technical terms, to expect at the UK borders after the UK exits the EU.
If interested, please register by 15 April 2019, 22.00, under this link for the morning session starting at 9.30 and under this link for the afternoon session starting at 13.30. Only those registered can attend the event. Simultaneous interpretation from English to Czech will be available.
