Coaching stories: Flowing and Falling of being a Coach – Karen Dean

Mastercoach from the UK is sharing her story and introduces us to her recently published book – an interesting event for coaches, mentors and managers alike.

Karen Dean –  Author, Master Certified Coach, Coach Supervisor

I am honoured to be an award winning author. In my work with Sam Humphrey Coaching Stories: Flowing and Falling of Being a Coach we have shown honesty and insight, while inspiring readers to learn and grow.

I have twenty-nine years experience as an Executive Coach working with over ninety organisations across twenty-two sectors worldwide. Working primarily in the context of transition and transformation, I am known for precision, courage and compassion. In partnership with my clients we focus on their clearly articulated goals which are measurable. I am creative in my thinking, responding instinctively to my clients and their needs.

I am fascinated by my role as a coach supervisor and enjoy the complexity of the work, while caring for and stimulating the coach on their journey. The online framework me:my™️coach is of my origination and supports coaches to self-supervise and actively reflect.

Today, I experience as much joy from coaching and writing as when I began.

I enjoy experiencing live performance whether music, opera, dance or theatre. The garden is a passion and watching rugby is my sport. Writing poetry is an indulgence.

Being in Prague and meeting new and fascinating people will be wonderful.

During the afternoon/evening Karen will …

  • Share her story from working as a scientist [in Haematology at London St. Thomas’] to becoming a Manager in a major retailer, to setting out on my career in the coaching profession.

  • She shall share a particular client experience with whom she worked at sea, for eight years. Coaching over 750 clients of many nationalities, cultures, religions and diversities.

  • In looking back over 15,000 hours professional practice Karen shall reflect on the evolutions which have taken place in coaching.

  • One of her biggest transformations came when she responded to a longed-for desire to write. This was about offering back to my profession with a new perspective which demanded courage and honesty as well as joyful recollections. It would be a great pleasure to read a ‘Flowing’ and a ‘Falling’ story for those attending.

Karen is open to questions and the spontaneity which comes when people gather together with mutual interest.

This event is intended for mentor of the Equilibrium programme.
