Report

On 4 October, we at the British Chamber of Commerce organised the Business Breakfast with Robert Campbell, Managing Director and head of Barclays’ strategic Technology Center in Prague. As the first event in the series of informal breakfast gatherings that the BCC will host, it caught the attention of board members, managing directors and senior managers from among our member base. Robert spoke about the difficult times that Barclays went through not that long ago and how he with his colleagues have managed to turn the situation around and make the Technology Center in Prague a prosperous place with enormous potential.

Robert Campbell is a lifelong programmer from the United States who received his degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh. He came to the Czech Republic in 2006 shortly after graduating looking for adventure. Although he now works for one of the world’s largest global banks – Barclays – he has prior experience working as a freelancer, in start-ups, in an internal tech incubator, and in international technology companies. Today he is a Managing Director and head of Barclays’ strategic Technology Center in Prague, which contains over 1.3k technologists building world class solutions for Barclays’ Markets, Research, and Risk organizations.
