Škoda Auto is this year’s winner of Deloitte‘s Green Frog Award for the best sustainability report. Second place is shared by IKEA Czech Republic and Plzeňský Prazdroj. The winner was selected by an independent jury. The competition is aimed at awarding the best non-financial reports.
Deloitte has been organising the Green Frog Award competition since 2000. The winner of the national competition automatically qualifies for the regional round to be held in January, in which non-financial reports of companies operating in Central Europe will be compared. This year, the jury for the national round was composed of:
- Lucie Mádlová (Association of Social Responsibility);
- Pavel Vinkler (Director of the Business Environment and Internal Sales Department); and
- Petr Lebeda (Director of GLOPOLIS, an analytical centre for sustainable development).
“We are very pleased that non-financial reporting has been gaining greater relevance year-on-year. The firms awarded serve as good examples of how CSR may be successfully included in corporate strategies, goals and value-creation. We can see an opportunity for developing an integrated reporting model in the future. According to our latest research, 92% of investors state that financial and non-financial information should be merged into a single integrated annual report“, says Lenka Neuvirtová, Sustainability Leader at Deloitte.
“We greatly appreciate the Green Frog Award because careful sustainability reporting has been considered to be an important and integral part of ŠKODA AUTO’s policy since 2005. Sustainability is also one of the pillars of our Strategy 2025. I would like to highlight the work of all of our employees working on tens of environmental, social and governance projects. Thanks to their work, motivation and commitment we could receive the Green Frog Award“, says Bohdan Wojnar, member of the Board of Directors of ŠKODA AUTO responsible for HR management.
“The deeper interest in the competition and the increased quality of corporate sustainability reports is good news for the Czech Republic also outside of the business environment. This is the evidence that the strategic goals for sustainable development as approved by the Government of the Czech Republic in April and supported by non-profit organisations are reflected in business leaders’ changed approach to business rather than being just a sheet of paper to be filed”, adds Petr Lebeda, Director of Glopolis.
