NewsBritish Chambers across Europe call for the UK to be recognised as a trusted partner

The British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic has joined British Chambers across Europe in supporting a joint statement calling for the United Kingdom to be recognised as a trusted partner within the EU’s proposed Made in Europe framework and European Industrial Accelerator Act.

The initiative brings together British Chambers representing businesses across Europe, highlighting the importance of maintaining strong and predictable conditions for UK–EU trade, investment and industrial cooperation.

European and UK businesses are closely connected through integrated supply chains across sectors including automotive, aerospace, pharmaceuticals and advanced manufacturing. The joint statement highlights the importance of ensuring that the development of the Made in Europe framework reflects these existing economic and industrial links.

In particular, the signatories call for the UK to be recognised as a trusted partner, for UK-origin industrial content to be able to contribute towards relevant European value-chain, industrial-policy and procurement requirements, and for businesses to have the certainty of a clear and predictable framework rather than fragmented product-by-product assessments.

For the British Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic, supporting British business and strengthening UK–European business ties are at the heart of our work. By joining this initiative, we are adding the voice of the Czech business community to a wider network of British Chambers advocating collectively on issues affecting companies operating across UK–EU markets.

The initiative also demonstrates the strength of the British Chambers network across Europe and its ability to bring together the voices of thousands of businesses around shared priorities for trade, investment and competitiveness.
