Prague-based senior associate Petra Myšáková received the ‘Rising Star: Czech Republic’ award at the Euromoney Legal Media Group Europe inaugural ceremony held last night at The Bulgari Hotel in London.
The Awards celebrate rising star lawyers across 20 practice areas. Trophies were handed out to the best rising stars from 19 European countries and there were attendees from the best in-house rising stars from across the continent too. For the purposes of these awards, “rising stars” are defined as lawyers who are under the age of 40 on 1 November 2019.
According to Euromoney Legal Media Group Europe, the winners were nominated as a result of data collated from a wide range of legal publications including: Managing Intellectual Property; International Financial Law Review; IFLR1000; International Tax Review; Expert Guides; and Benchmark Litigation. The research for these publications includes peer review and client interviews.
Prokop Verner, managing partner of Allen & Overy in Prague commented: “We are very proud of Petra’s achievement. Her professionalism and client focus is setting the standard in terms of rising star lawyers leading the field in the legal profession across Europe.”
The award is the latest in a string of accolades for Petra. She was recently praised as a ‘shining star’ and a ‘next generation lawyer’ of the A&O banking practice in Prague by Chambers and Legal500. She has also been repeatedly ranked amongst the “Most influential female lawyers in the Czech Republic”, by Economia publishing house, which recognises female professional icons that push boundaries in their fields of expertise.
Together with Petra, four other rising stars from across A&O’s European offices were honoured, including London-based partner Peter Crossan and senior associate Rafi Allos, Amsterdam-based senior associate Neyah van der Aa, and counsel Poliana Naum from A&O’s associated office in Romania.
