Target group:    Czech lawyers working in both big and small offices

Content:

1.    CIVIL law
Basic division into substantive and procedural (harm, plaintiff, legal actions…)

Contracts   

• remedies
• clauses (liquidation vs liquidity)
• breaches
• contractual vs contracting and another list of tricky words and phrases

Case study: samples of bad contracts – students are to rephrase it

2.    COMMERCIAL law (incl. COMPANY law)

•    Establishing a company
•    Operating a company
•    Types of companies
•    Dissolving x winding-up a company
•    Juicy topics from commercial law

Case study: establishing a company (anticipating five potential problems related to establishing a company)

3.    LABOUR LAW

•    Language: vocabulary for hiring and firing, differences in registers (formal vs. informal)
•     Starting and terminating employment
•     Case study: role play – firing an employee

4.    ADMINISTRATIVE law

•     Corruption – slang phrases
•     Fines – typical excuses for avoiding paying them
•     Traffic – accidents, crashes, fines, “close person”
•     Case study: analyzing a movie clip
